Overview
The Shira Route is widely regarded as one of the most scenic and beautiful routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. It starts from Londorossi Gate on the western side and quickly ascends to the vast Shira Plateau. This route offers breathtaking panoramic views, remote wilderness, and excellent opportunities for acclimatization. The trail passes through rainforest, moorland, and alpine desert before joining the Machame Route near Lava Tower on the way to Uhuru Peak.
